Exploring more 'conversation' ideas
Before deciding on an idea I wanted to explore more in to what I could go into on this brief, I had only explored what I could think of in my head. I wanted to research more to see what ideas I could come up with. Ee were advised to look at the JTC 100 Future. JTC had preempted what they thought was going to happen in the future, these were done back in 2009 therefore they show what they thought today would look like, and in most cases they were right. I looked into them all in minor detail to see what they were about and then looked at 4 in more detail as you can see in the slideshow below.
One that caught my eye was 'retail is everything'. This was one they got spot on, everyone now shops online for convenience and ease. We have everything at the touch of a button on our phone and doesn't feel the need to go out in the cold anymore but instead spend hours online looking and buying. the problem is that shopping was a social thing with friends, and now people don't do it the social aspect is going and people are now alone and don't socialise as much. This leads to the idea of 'mobile as an everything hub', convergence has took over and now we don't need 4 devices to do each thing, our phones so it all, play music, go online, watch tv and play games.
Looking into these really made me see the difference that technology has brought us and how different we behave now. It's frighting to see that change in us and I think the younger generations and generations to come are going to be the worst effected by the conversation. Because they stop having verbal conversations and have chats online due to social media. I've realised in this brief that the big factor is social media and how its changed our lives.
Because of this discovery that technology and social media has a lot to do with the brief I started to look into 'the internet of things'. This explores how we use technology in many different way, which is expanding every day. for example using coffee machines that make coffee for a certain time, everything is automated and its not just the internet for people anymore the internet is controlling appliances in our house, its making our house run more technologically.
