Bottle Prototyping: (Extra Work)
After learning how to prototype in our character design and cereal box design session in production, I decided to take this skill and learn more by using it in my studio work, I am creating a marketing strategy for feel good drinks aiming to target their saes at women aged 18-35, enhancing the idea of feel good and having no added nasty’s. After researching this brief I came up with feel good Friday, a day where women swap their glass of wine at the end of the week for one of feel goods healthy juice drinks, the idea was that the difference in price that they would have spent on wine would then be donated to breast cancer UK, feel good have done work with then before and it links women to a charity they can relate to making them want to take part. The idea is to make women feel good inside and out.
I designed special edition bottles that could be bought to advertising and take part in feel good Fridays, so I made the labels in illustrator using measurements form the bottle, printed it and wrapped it around, this worked really well, it fitted nicely, it looked real and it gave me an accurate example of what the bottle would look like as it always looks different on screen, here was my outcome...
The production session taught me about measurements and also separating line and colour, making it better for print, the only thing that I think could be improved is the cutting out of the label, because its done by hand its not the most accurate it could be, done by a machine like in the mass production factories this could be better, however this is just a prototype to see what the bottle would look like.
