Feel good TV advert Concept
After creating the whole feel Good Friday campaign, I had time and an opportunity to expand my practice into looking at TV adverts for feel good, to either go with my campaign or as a general advert.
I wanted to create an advert that related to my campaign, or told a story to explain it as I feel with all the content I have created it would be a shame not to.
Feel good drinks have an existing TV advert with the concept coming from a previous YCN winner, her idea was to use gnomes at create the juice in stop motion, using a playful nature in the personality of the gnomes.
Because of this I decided to create a TV ad that will fit with the brands current identity but change it to fit my campaign that targets 18-35 year old women.
My idea is to carry on the gnomes but make them girls, looking old enough to drink wine and to be playful with each other in the same way as the existing advert portrays the gnomes. I wanted one gnome to pull a glass of wine away whilst the other chases it and then they get introduced to feel good drinks and really likes it. It’s a simple concept and I think this could create a series of adverts with many different stories and playful scenarios. Storytelling is something brand can thrive on now, relatable and familiarity.
I started to look into the gnomes themselves and adapted them into girl gnomes; I like the way these gnomes look because they actually look like older gnomes as appose to little girls and with the advert including wine this works well. I did some other characters but they were to cute and young and I decided to stick with this.
I then storyboarded and mocked up my idea, the images drawn show the main concept of each scene and under describes what is happening and how long it should take place for. I really enjoyed making this storyboard, the influence came from the stop motion I made using the drawing is had done. I did that because I wanted to create a drawn mock up of the advert to show that the concept worked and give a better idea of what it would look and feel like to an audience.
